BREACH OF DAIRY ACT.

Wellington, July 1, W. H. Frauklyn, of Inglewood, was fiued 80s each on two charges and costs 28s for not branding boxes of butter exported. THE BARQUE COROMANDEL. Wellington, July 2. Throe claims against the barque Coromandel, now lying on the bottom of the harbour, are before the Suju'eme Court. The crew claim £-±00 for salvage, or £332 for wages, the Union Coy. £75 for towage, and the United Insurance Coy. £100, lent to Capt. Bendall on behalf of the Capt. of the barque. The only money available is £400 paid by the purchaser of the wreck into Court. No one will admit ownership, or liability. The underwriters hare not been heard from, and the Captain has left Wellington, so that if all suitors recover, there will not be enough to satisfy the judgments, and costs.

BANK OP NEW ZEALAND OFFICIALS.

Mr P. Coffey has given (notice to move at the next meeting of the shareholders of the Bank of New Zealand that it is not conducive to the interests of shaieholdorß to retain the services of Messrs Watson and McKenzie. ACTION AGAINST MINISTERS.

Among the civil cases at the S.M. Court to-day was that of, Mrs Felton v. Hons Seddon and Ward. The plaintiff is owner of the paper Daybreak, which, she alleged, she agreed with defendants to conduct as a Government paper on condition that she received sufficient advertisements to cover the cost of printing and publishing. The price paid, wa.B insufficient to do this, and sho claimed £50 from each of the defendants as damages, and the came sum by way of indemuity .

Mr Jollicoc, who lias l>cen acting for Mrs Felton, said she hod instructed him not to go on with it as she had been compelled to withdraw the action. Counsel fmid plaintiff assured him sho had been pestered out of her lifo the last few days by Government officials to stop the case. Mr Gully, for defendants, characterised tho whole thing as a deliberate attempt at blackmail, for no counsel would have advised a client that any action against the Crown lay against two members of the Government personally. He claimed and obtained costs, £2 14s.

GIRL VAGRANCY. ' Girls ranging from 14 to IG£ years of age, were befove tho court this morn- • ing as vagrants. The police said they were part of a gang who frequented tho Dhinamen's houses. One who admitted staying at a Chinaman's for some days was sentenced to a month.- Mr Martin said that although she was over regulation age iie would try and have ' her placed at Burnham. The others were remanded to Monday to see what could be done with them . FIRE AT BRUNNERTON. Bkukneuton, July 1 . Last night Kellcen's hotel, two miles from Brunnerton, was burned down. The house had no license, but was £ur« nished. No one was living in it, but a man named O'Gorman was in charge. Insurance is unknown.
