Auckland, June 2!).— Fredk. Gr*y, aged 16, third son of Chas. Gray, of Hiteo, North Kaipara, was drowned in the Hiteo River while going down the river on a largo log. After rafting some logs he fell off, and was unable to swim.

Sergt.-Major Doughty, of the ABattery, was wounded on tho arm and 'eyelid by a splintered bullet while marking at the Mount Eden range.
