Mr Govett (for Mr Roy) for plaintiff. -Now Plymouth Harbour Board vW. R. Elder. Claim, £1 2s 7d, and costs 6s.— Same v 0. Kent. Claim, £1 16s 6d, and costs 6s.— Same v Dingle. Claim. £3 19s 7d, and costs 6s. — M. Sutherland vW. L. Martin. Claim, £1 63 6d, and costs 16s 3d. Mr Weston for plaintiff.— Hallenstein Bros, v J. Way, jun. Claim, £1 6s 9d, and costs ss. Defended Case. — ElleH Collins v. Sidney Madgwick. Claim, £49 3s 4d for keep of a boy for four years and eleven months. Mr Korr for the plaintiff, and Mr Weaton for the defendant— The plaintiff stated that when Madgwiok's first wife diod Madgwick came to her to take a baby boy to look after. She took tbe child because she know Madgwiek's family at Home, and had great respect for them. She was needlewoman in Madgwick's family for two years, and had great reapecc for his mother, and brothers. [Defendant : You arefaigreat friend of theirs. Plaintiff: Yes ; but not of yours]. The boy she took was now in court. She expected payment for the keep of tho child, aud did bos take the boy out of charity. It was understood that she was to got four shillings a week for the keep of the child. The only money Rhe had received from Madgwick Tis lls at different tiroes. By Mr Weston : She did not take the ohild on charity. She know at tho time of Madgwick's wife's d6ath that Madgwick wus involved, and she did not bother him for money until he had a chanco to straighten himself. She had repeatedly asked Madgwick for payment personally. One day she followed Madgwick up for three hours in town, but could not get payment. — Charles Collins, husband of last witness, gave evidence in support of his wife's. — Defendant gavo evidence that thera was no arrangement about the four shillings a week, and that tho plaintiff adopted the boy.— Frederick Bullot also gave evidence.—His Worship finally gave judgment for p'aintiff for the full amount, with costs*, i' 3 4*.
