Monday, June 29.— 80f oro J. Bellringer, Esq., J.P., 11. G. Bauchope, Esq., J.P., and D. Berry, Esq , J.P.

Railway Regulations.— R. A. Kelly and S. H. Sergeant were charged that on Juno 13 thej^ got on a train, at Stratford, while in motion. — Mr Kerr appeared for the defendants, and pleaded guilty. He pointed out that the defendants had given no trouble over the matter, and asked that the Bench take this into consideration . — Sergeant Duffin Baid that a nominal fine would meet the case.— Tho Bench fined each defendant Is, and costs" 7s. Borough By-Laws.— Michael Slaitery was charged with a breach of Borough by-laws by riding a horse furiously on June 22.- He pleaded guilty Sergeant DufTm stated that he saw the accused ride tho horeo at a furious pace up Devonstreet, and when ho (Sergfc. Duffin) taxed defendant he said tho horse bolted with him. — Defendant gave evidence that the hone, which he w«s taking to be shod, got the bit between his teeth and bolted, and he pullod tbe animal up at soon as he could.— Andrew McGonagle, blacksmith, gave evidence that the defendant pulled np the horse as soon as he could. — Mr Bellringer : How many times did tho defendant go up and down the street ?—? — Witness was not certain on this point, but from his knowledge of homes he knew Slattery tried all in his power to control tho animal. — Mr Bellringor : Did not several people have narrow escapes from boing run ovor? — Witness: There were Reveral people about.— Mr Bellringer : W»3 not a laJy nearly knocked over ?—? — Witness was not aware there was.— John Casey gave evidence that he saw tho horse bucking with Slattery. — The Bench called Sergeant Duffin, who gave evidence that b.« saw Slattery going down the street at racing speed. He could not say if the man was attempting to pull in. — Tho Bench gave the defendant the benefit of the doubt, and dismissed tho case.
