Melbourne, May 14. The Government has ordered sufficient cordite to make 50,000 Maxim gun cartridges.
Sydney, May 14. Owing to the rain the tennis match between New Sonth Wales and New Zealand was postponed till to-morrow.
As a result of the conference between the miners and owners in the southern coal district, the latter decided to grant the men a fourth of the extra profits accruing from the increased demand for coal consequent on the Newcastle strike.
The Bank of New South Wales has received the announcement of tho death of Mr Donald Larnach, London Chairman of Directors.
