About seven furlongs For horses that have never started in any advertised race excepting Farmers' Plates, and winners of these barred. Weights to appear immediately after the Pony Bace. BULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of Hack. — A hack is a horse that has never won an advertised race (Hack, Hunter, and Pony races excepted), and is not at the time of start, or has not been three months prior to date of entry, nominated for any race (Hack, Hunter, and Pony races excepted). All races to be run under the Rules of Bacing as adopted by tho Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. No entry or nomination will be received for any race except on these conditions : That all disputes, claims, and objections arising shall bo decided by a majority of the Stewards present; their decision upon all points connected with the carrying ont of this programme shall bo final, except in cases of appeal, provided for by^he Bules of Baciug. Stakes paid in full. DATES OF NOMINATIONS, &c. Saturday, March 7th, 1896, nomina tions close for Hurdle Bace, Flying Handicap, Bell Block Cup, Pony Baco, Scurry, and Welter Handicap. Wednesday, March 11th, 1896, weights due for Hurdlo Bace, Flying Handicap, Bell Block Cup, and Pony Bace. Acceptances, and Entries for Maiden Plato and Counties Plate close on Saturday, March 21st, 1896. On tho Course.— Weights declared for the Welter Handicap immediately after tho Pony Race. NOTICES, &c, TO NOMINATORS. Penalties.— The winner of any handicap after the declaratidn of weights to carry a penalty of 71bs. ' In all cases where penalties have to be carried for winning, it shall be the duty of owner, trainer, or jockey to notify the same to the Secretary. All Nominations, Acceptances, and Entries, accompanied by the necessary amounts, must be addressed to thn Secretary, and in the Secretary's hands not lator than 9pm. on the advertised dates of closing.
