EDUCATION RESERVES BOARD.

The BoarJ met on Friday. PresentMessrs Purris (chairman), Bauchope, Corkill, Strauchon, and Stock. i In reply to a letter from the Taranaki I County Council with reference to tho conditions of the right given the Gquncil to draw stones from tho Waiwakaiho river across the Board's property at the Meeting of the Waters the Board decided that they could not grant an allowance of half royalty on stone for two years as a rebate towards cost of erection of fences along the track. The Board will, therefore, adhere to tho conditions contained in the Board's resolution of October 12. Permission was given the Taranaki Council to re-erect a stone wall that had been recently washed away at the meeting of the waters reserve. Messrs A. Carmichael and H. Livingston will be informed in reply to their application through Mr Cowern, that seeing their leases were. bought at public auction as recently as April, 1892, the Board icannot see its way to reduce their rents. Messrs Gatenby Bros., of Awatuna, will be informed the same. Mr W. Webber wrote with respect to tho erection of a legal fence in leeerve S, New Plymouth. The Board declined to advise Mr Webber. Two consents to mortgages were agreed to. Several matters were deferred, accounts were passed, and the' Board adjourned.
