Tho gun will, it is understood, be handed over to the chief Motu, who is at the head of the hapu of which Ike is a member. At the conclusion of his remarks at the Benefit Sooietie-t' Social on Tuesday night, Mr J. Bullringer referred to tho train arrangements that had been entered into for the special train last Sunday. He said that had tho train been arranged for from the Haworaond to bring the visitors from there to New Plymouth, the rate por hoad would have been 2s. Cd., whereas on account of it boing arranged from hero, it was 4s. Mr E. M. Smith, M.H R., has received a wire from Mr T. D. This information should settle tho long voxod question of tho chief dairy district in tho colony being debarred from shipping dairy produce direct.
