INGLEWOOD.

INGLEWOOD TOWN BOARD. THE ordinary monthly meeting of tha Inglewood Town Board was held on June 10th. Present : Messrs H. Brown (chairman), Carstens, Clough, Tarplee, and Julian.

Correspondence was read from the Colonial Secretary, informing "the Board that the sum of £6 odd had been placed to their credit in the Bank of New Zealand ; from Mr F. Hammond, re crossing; from Mr George Bennett, sen., applying for the position of spreader and Ranger to the Board ; from the Taranaki County Council, accepting the offer of the Inglewood Town Board or 2s lOd por cubio yard for metalling from the west side of Kelly-street to Brook-strctt, and stating that it is the intention of the Council to begin the work forthwith. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr David Todd and inform him that no mullock or gravel be carted from the Board's pit without an order from the Town Clerk ; also to acquaint him that his account was laid aside until the •iiaard s engineer measures his dray. It was agreed to accept Mr G. Bennett's application for Ranger ; no spreader required at present. It was proposed by Mr Clough, fcconded by Mr Tarplee, and carried, That a committee be formed to ask Mr Fromm to draw up a rough plan of a new Town Hall, &c. ; also an estimate of cost for samo. The mover and seconder -were appointed to wait ou Mr Fromra for the above purpose. It was proposed by Mr Tarplee, seconded by Mr Carstens, and carried, That in future a sum sufficient for stamp duty and registration be added to the present sum paid for transfer ot leases. The collector's statement for the past month was read, showing tho amount collected to be £27 10s lOd.

Mrs Monos applied for a fow loads of earth to be placed in front of her residence in Standiah-street. Granted.'

Accounts amounting to £32 4s ldif ero passed for payment.

Tnere was no business for the Domin Board, except the minutes of |,he l»sl meeting being read. Mr Clough sent in his resignation as ranger, whioh was accepted.
