BRITISH TAKE POSSESSION OF NICARAGUA.
OCCUPATION OF CORINTO. [per press association.] London, April 29.—Corinto was occupied at night tinder a blaze of search lights from the warships, the crews of Which manned the guns ready to open fire on the first signs of opposition to the force sent ashcre. The Nicaraguan Government has declared the port closed, and will confiscate goods taken inland from there. Guatemala, San Salvador, and Costa Rica, have urged Nicaragua to pay up. Costa Rica has offered to find a fifth of the money, bnt the Government, however, is in fear of the mob, and on this account also declined the offer of American mediation.
