FEEDING APPLES TO COWS.
From a report of the Vermont experiment station, United States of America, we gather that app'e pomace, ensilaged and used supplementary to an in part as a sabetituto for maizs emihge, was found to be relished by cows, and the result of four tests found it to be about equival-ntin feeding value ta maize ensilage. Laboratory tests allowed that the feeding value of apples was somewhat higher than an equal weight of turnips. Apple pomacn wassiid to bo equal to sugar beets, it beiDg somewhat singular chao/ical fact that the pomace is richer in nitrogenous matter than the apple from which it has been made.
