SENDING LABOURERS TO STRATFORD.
HALF-TIME SYSTEM. [PEK PPwESS ASSOCIATION."] Wellington, April 25.— The Department of Labour has selected fifteen men, nearly all of them married, to proceed this morning to Stratford, where they will be employed on the East Road under the recently adoptod half-time system. In order to give them a start, they will have six weeks' work (full time) at the outset, and nfc the expiration of that time those of them who are married are expected to havo their families on the land sections they take up. ''After the first mx weeks the half-time system will take effect.
