WHEREA.S in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and seventy*, live, in pursuance and exercise of his own free will, Bichakd Cock did start in business in Brougham-street, at that time the best known business portion of the town of New Plymouth, but now and for the last five yeaia the worst, and Whereas by the grace of God the said Richard Cock, during that long period, had given unto him a son, and the said son now desires that he shall follow in the old line of business carried on by his father, It is hereby notified that it is the intention of Kichard Cock aforesaid to assist his said son by establishing a provision store in the shop formerly in the occupation of the late J. T. Da/is, next the Criterion Hotel, under the style of B. Coce & Son. Now, therefore, be it also enacted that the said Bichabd Cock tenders his best thanks to the public for their favors during the last twenty years, and would ask for a continuance of public patronage to the new firm.
