Nolax, Tonks & Co., (Haweia) report that at Eltham, on 'October Bth, they had a krge'muster o£ aittlc, mostly of a good class, the majority of which found ready sale. At Hawera. on October 11th, the j.ards were well filled with both cattle and sheep. Bidding was brisk throughout, resulting in business beiug done for most line 1 ;. Sheeii were keenly competed for. lint prices remain unaltered. We quote: At Eltham — AVeaner«, 20s to 28s; calves, 10s to 10s; yearlings, 45s to 57s 6d; 2-year heifers, 37s 0d to 00s; 2}year empty quiet heifers, 07s Oil to O'Js; btorc cows, 63s to Gss; springing heifers, 100s to 110s; springing cows, 115s to 125s each. — At Hawera: Weaners, 25s to 30s; yearlings, 13s to 50s; 18-months steers, 35s to 57s 6rt; 2-year steers, 63s to 70s; 2Jyear bteers, 77s to 80s; 3-year bullocks, 96s to 112s; store cow». 57b to 655; forward condition cows. 70s to 72s 6d: fat cows, 91s to 955; cows and calves, 80s to 82s Gd; springing heifers, 85s to 100s; springing cows, 100s fo 115s. Sheep : Hoggets, 9b to 10s; store wether*, 10s 9d to 11s 9(1; ewes and lamhf., Ss tid to 11s; dry ewes, 8s; 4-tooth fresh condition ewes, lls 6d to 12s 7d.
