Cattle, Sheep, &c— Messrs Buckland & Sons report that at Pukekohe on Monday there was a smaller muster of stock than usual ; calves ranged from 20s to 30s ; quiet cows, near calving, £4 10s to £5 7s (id : heifers, £3 10s to £5 15s ; dry cows, £2 12s to £3 5s ; fat cows, £4 to £5 10s each. — At Kemuera on Thursday (March 29), dairy cows at profit were requiied ; good animals were from £6 10s to £7 5s each. Store cattle were in greater number than usual, and kept late values. Dry cows were from 30s to 05s ; weaned calves, 23s to 35s each ; few fat calves yarded, these sold at extreme values ; fat cattle in full number, and generally heavy weights sold irregularly; choice cattle fully kept their values, but second quality dull of sale. Pigs in full number (85 yarded); sold freely ; porkers from 18s to 32s ; large pigs, £2 17s Od ; slips, 8s to lls ; suckers, 7s each. — Messrs Hunter and Nolan report as follows:— Cattle : The holidays interfered with the auctions, and private sales were limited.
