Mr Billings was voted to the chair. Mr Whitaker discussed the manifesto of the Licensed Victuallers. Mr L. Hooker followed with earnebt denunciation of the drink traffic. Mr J. H. White explained the provisions of the Act, and said that all shades of opinion should poll their honest judgment, and tho will of the people rule. The Teetotal Committee desired that, and that only, and he was supremely anxious that every interest should have the fullest consideration, and the public welfare be the aim and end of every voter. Thanks to chairman and speakers concluded the meeting.
