CHANGES IN TONGAN GOVERNMENT,
KING DISMISSES HIS MINISTERS.' MR n. D. WHITCOMBE SECRETARY OP STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS. | FBB PRESS ASSOCIATION. | Auckland, December 13. — Important changes took place in Hie Tongan Government. On 24th November the King autninari'.y dismissed Tukuatro, Premier; "Mr A. M. Campbell, Collector of Customs ; and Mr Smart, Clerk, from their respective offices. It is alleged that Mr Campbell waa treated very shabbily, the keys of office being demanded without a minutes notice. Considerable excitement prevailed. Satoki, an important ■ chief ani firm friend of the Rev, Shit ley Baker, has appointed as Premier Mr William Campbell, collector of cußtoms. Mr Vavan has been transferred to Tongatibu. Mr C. D. Whitcombe has been appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affia rs The general wish is expressed that the Rev. Mr Baktr should return to Tonga. The excitement had Bubdded when the a s. Upolu left.
