ANOTHER ESTATE TO BE
PURCHASED BY GOVERNMENT. Donedin, October 14.
It is understood the Minister for Lands has concluded the purchase from John Douglas (Mount Royal) of his Pomahaka Downs, burning plains estate on the banks of Pomahaka, and idjoin ing the famed Clydedale estate. The area is 7462 acres ; and price is about £2 10s per acre. A portion of the estate was sold in 1889, and not the best of it realised £3 12s.
