Melbourne, August 26. The Government have revise 1 the Estimates, effecting a further saving of £175,000. Sydney, Augnst 20. A man entered Alcock's jeweller's sliop last night and snatched up a case containing £2,000 worth of diamond rings. The thief got clear away. Brisbane, August 20. Stock returns tor last year show a surplus over the consumption — cattle 540,000 head (1 11,000 were frozen) and 130,000 exported alive to southern markets, seventy-five and a half million pounds of meat were frozen, and over five and a half million preserved. The number of sheep in the rolony at the end of the year i* given .ac twenty-one million and n-lialf. The Legislative Assembly, by 32 to 15, rejected tho motion in favour of the separation of Central Queensland.
