TARANAKI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of the Taranaki Horticultural Society was held in the Borough Council Clnmbors on Monday night There wore about twenty members prosont, Mr H.King being in the chair, Retort and Balanck-sueet.- Mr C. E. Bellringer, the secretary, presented the report and balance-sheet. The ftatemont of accountß showed a credit balance of £8 13s 2d, which waa considered vory Batinfactory, taking all things into account. The report statod that thoro had been a good increase of mombers, and the Society havo again tho pleasure of knowing that all claims have been met in full and that there is now a substantial balance in tho treasuror'B hands. After dealing with the success of the Spring Show hold on November 24th, tho ropoit roferrod to tho Autumn Show, which vvn» hold in conjunction with tho Taranaki Agricultural Show, and a sub-committee was appointed to work -.vilh tlmtjSociety. Tho combined ■how resulted in a loos and the Society havo contributed £4 towards the same. The report then stated that tho committee, at a meeting held on July 14, decided to recommend tho Society to hold both spring and autumn shows under the Society's sole management. The report then went on 1o detail coitain recommendations in connection with tho proposed shows. Tho report and balance-sheet after discussion wcro adopted. Election ok Officers.—The following were elected :—President, Mr E Veale ; Vice Presidents, Moeers H. Goodacre, and H, King; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. E. Bollringer; auditor,|Mr A. B. 11. Fookes; committee, Mesdamos Weyorgang, and W. Skinner, Messrs Brooks, Cattley, W. A. Collis, N. K. MacD'arniid, and F. Goodacro. Show Days.—The mooting decided to hold and Autumn shows. Tho Spring show will bo held on Thursday, November 23 ; and in connection with Autumn show tho meeting decided to conBult tho Agricultural Society. Members' Privileges.—lt was decided that members receive an additional ticket l'oi both Spring and Autumn hhowß. Tho meeting adjournod.
