Tho special prizes aro coining in well, and sonic of them, inuhtding tho £10 10a cup, given by tho Egmont Boot Co., may be soon in the window of Mr Abner King, tuilor, Devon street. It is understood that Mr P. R. Carthew, tho late secretary, has givon a cup valued at £2 2s, to bo won twice in succession or three times at intervals. Tho Recieation Grounds Boarl have arranged with Mr Hamor Ardon. to superintend tho planting out of native trees, and ho is at proEeat engaged putting in tree fern» round tho largo lako. Mr Arden Las given a load of tree forns, and another load is coming from Mr Standiah next week. Mr John Skinnor has given a largo quantity of p«impau grass, and Coui-tublo Ilicknmn has also promised a lot of cabbage trees, aud donations of puriri and other trees ore being made, bo that if tho weather continues fine a good deal of work will bo done.
