The evidence so far merely goes to show that Jacobsou was a peaceable man, for whose sudden disappearance there was no known reason except foul play. QUEENSLAND SUBSCRIPTIONS. Various flood subscription lists have been practically closed, and £1797 lias been forwarded through the Colonial Secretary, and £304 by the City Council to Brisbane. For the local floods in Wellington, £360 was collected.
