ADDITIONAL PARTICULARS.
Sydney, March 21.—Private advices indicate that the hurricane in the New Hebrides Group \yas felt most severely at Vila Hanua, while Ambryui and many other islands were unharmed. The Empreya was only dismasted and not wrecked. The schooner Ika Vuka has become a total wreck, anl fears are entertained for the safety o£ tlie steamer Croi don. Tho whole settlement at Port Sandback, Now Caledonia, was swept away. The French Company haa sustained a heavy loss, and the finest plantations have been destroyed. The natives are absolutely without food The loss at Vida Hanah is estimated at 125,000 franca. Nonema escaped, though the other parts are deluged. Appalling floods have taken place, and tho loss is estimat d at throe million francs Over 20,000 tons of nickel ore has been washed into the sea Many thrilling escapeb are recorded. Tho Government has cabled to Franco for £20,000 to relievo tho immediate wants of the residents.
