MR. NEWTON KIMTS WEEKLY AUCTION AND PROL» JOE REPORT. At the Haymarkot on Saturday no pigs came forward, the heavy rain of the previous day bo doubt acted as a deterrent, A fair number of hacks wero offered, but bidding was dull, an! tho majority wero passed in. Hacks made £3 7s Gd to £6 10s.
Al the mart fowls made 9d to Is 6d ; ducks, Is lOd to 28 3d ; potatoes, 4s 3d to 4s 6d ; wheat, 3s 6d ; cheese, 5d ; too, 12s 6d. A quantity of groceries and sundries made fair prices. Cattle. — The yards were nicely filled on Thursday, at R hotu, and cattle soli? at fair prices. Good calves made 36s to 375; yearlings and over, £2 lCs ; 18-months steers, £2 15s , epringing cows, £4 5s to £7 ; bull, £4 ; 18 months heifers, £2 Us; dranght filly, £18 ; springing heifers to £5.
Produce — There is but little demand for buttor ; the only buyers are outside speculators, the actual consumptive demand being almost nil. Cocksfoot is Tory dull, and Italian rye has receded. Potatoes are now coming in more freely, but are still scare u:d readily saleable
