TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

LARGE NUMBER OF ENTRIES. Entries for tho Taranaki Agricultural Show, which will bo held on the race^ course on Thursday next, closed with the secretary, Mr C. T. Mills, on Wednesday evening, md also with agents at Hawera, Waitara, and Midhirst. The entries that were received locally showed a decided increase in lnrso and cattle classes. There are 174 entries in horses, as against 140 last year, and in cattle 106, as against 59 last year The entries for sheep, dogs, and all other classes are numerous enough to cause keen competition in these classes. Tho many extra exhibits that will be shown, tho practical working of the milking machine, the weight estimating competition, and the jumping and other contests for hacks, should be attractive enough to draw a large concourse of people to tho racecourse on Thursday next, providing, of course, that the weather is fine.
