NEWSPAPER OFFICE MOBBED.
A section of the unemployed attempted to mob the office of the St. James' t Oazette, the newspaper having described the Trafalgar Square meeting a3 an asssnibly of loafers and lads. The police dispersed tho crowd before any damage was done. Subsequently an Interview took place between tho editor and somo of the unemployed, but the former declined to withdraw the statement complained of or apologise.
SUDDEN DEATH OF A DUKE.
The Duke of Marlborough was found dead in his bed this morning. CHANGE IN AUSTRALIAN NAVY.

MRS PA KNELL'S BANKRUPTCY.
It is suggested that tho bankruptcy of Mrs C. S. Parnell is connected with the funds which arc at present in the hands of Parisian bankers. AGITATORS BLATHERSKITING.
The leaders of the unemployed are making incendiary speeches. They threaten that a quarter of a million of men will be driven to desperate measures if tho police continue to provoke them.
DIFFERENCES AMONGST THE MINISTERS.
' Mr Balfour, speaking at Edinburgh, said the Ministrjr abstained from attending the Lord Mayor's banquet owing to differences between Sir V. Harcourt and Lord Rosoberry over Uganda. He expressed his pain and disgust at Air Justice Malhew's partiality.
ANTWERP WOOL SALE
Brussels, November 9.
At the opening of the Antwerp wocl sales there was an average attendance o! buyers, and fair competition. 2532 bales wero offcrel, 1300 being sold. As compared with last Antwerp scries there was a fall of five centimes in fleece wool, but the rates for pieces were unchanged, whilo lambs showed a rise of fivo centimes.
RIOT IN BRUSSELS.
Tho Belgian Chamber of Deputies has opened its sittings. During the evening the gendarmes charged and dispersed a mob in front of the King's Palace. Scenes of great excitement and tumult occurred.
AUSTRIAN ROYAL VISIT TO SYDNEY.
A^ienna, November 9. Archduke Fordinand will reach Sydney at the end of March.
CIVIL MARRIAGE QUESTION.

M. Tirza is at the head of the movement in fayor of tho immediate declaration of obligatory civil marriage. Tho Szapary Ministry and tho Emperor are opposed to this proposal. AMERICAN CONSUL FOR SYDNEY. Washington, November 9. William Kapus has been appointed American Consul at Sydney.
