ARRIVAL OF THE COPTIC.
[rEX PRESS ASSOCIAi ION.] Wellington. Septembei 21. — The s.s. Coptic arrived this morning from London, via way ports, after an uneventful passage. Before coining alongoido the wharf she was inspected and passed by the Health Officer. Passengers for Now Plymouth — Miss Newsam, Mcsdamos Harrold and Turner, Messrs Graig, Chadwick, Harrold, Schoneld, Turner, and Wasloy.
Captain Edwin telegraphed at 12.20 p.m. to-day :— " North-oaat to nortli and west gale, with rain and heavy Be i, afior twelve hour 3 from now; glass fall again soon." In order to admit of tlio extra number of mon performing on tho stage at one time at the Gymnastic Carnival on Thursday evening, tho utago ut tho Aloxandrj Hall has licen considerably enlarged. Everything points to a moat successful re-ult, and those who intend to be preaont will do well to secure their Hints beforehand
