Character is capital in all departments of life. "Hare you any one you J oan reoom v mend ?"■ How often is tbis qae3tion put in-^ factories, sohools, colleges ? Then the' lad or the man who has nothing but character" gets his chance. He was seen to _take-p4in3, -- to do all he undertook, and to do it welt — to' 1 be ambitious of excellence; and hejs put iffplace that wants such "a mad. Char •' • aoter,- too, is like' money at 'interest* It~ grows while jrou are sleeping, little by little 1 ; '_ slowly, atfirst, perhaps, but surely ; and a day comes "when you find your investmentprofitable" beyond your thoughts.
