A slight misunderstanding arose with the Auckland Club over the tho tournament which was held hero at tho celebration of our Provincial Jubilee. The Club prize match, and one presented by Mr Jones, on account of the wet season, were not completed, and will, therefore, be open for competition this next season. J Repairs. — The Committee deemed it advisable to top dress parts of the green, j in order to level up one or two places, especially in No. 3 rink, and this, on account of the recent dry weather, may have the effect of delaying tho opening of the green till tho beginning of November. Thanks.— The thanks of the Club are due to Messrs Skelton and George for prizes, to Mr Sanderson for superintending repairs to the green, and to Mr Coker for the use of a piano. Practice of Members.— Although the Club numbers about 50 subscribing members, there only about 20 who ever play, and many of these even are very irregular in their attendance. The Committee would, therefore, strongly urge that efforts be made to increase the active list of membership, and by assiduous practice endeavor to maintain the prestige which the Club has already attained. Bowling Tournament. — It is understood that a Bowling Tournament will take place at Napier next Easter, and tho Committee hope the Club will be strongly represented on that occasion. Bowling Association. — A Northern Bowling Association has at last been formed, with head-quarters at Wellington, and the Committee have appointed Mr Will Lambert as their delegate. He had much pleasure, therefore, to propose Mr Paul, who had fathered bowling here, to fill the office of President. The Chairman then thanked the members for their aid i during the time he was President. He would always take a keen interest in the Club although not an officer. -The proposition was seconded by Mr Veale, and carried unanimously.— Mr Paul returned thanks in a few suitable remarks, aud said no effort of his would be found wanting to j promote the interests of tho Club, and bowling generally. — Messrs Moroy and J .
