DEATH OF PARNELL, THE IRISH PATRIOT.

FURTHER PARTICULARS OF OCCURRENCE. GREAT EXCITEMENT IN DUBLIN. SPLIT BETWEEN IRISH PARTY WIDENING. fPBR PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] London, October 7. — The death is announced of Mr C. S. Parnell, at the ago of 45 years. He caught a chill while in bed on Friday, which developed into acute rheumatism. He was unconscious for several hours, and died at midnight on Tuesday in intense agony. He was staying at Brighton. Mrs ParneH'a solicitors have received an unsigned telegram stating that Mr Parnell committed suicide. Parnell's last appearance in public was on Sunday week. He left Ireland on Thursday, suffering from chills, which developed in to rheumatism, and he died unconecions in the presence of his wife only. There was immense excitement in Dublin when the news became known. Business was stopped for a time, and many persons were moved to tears. Tho National Federation which was sitting in Dublin has adjourned. The prominent Parnellites delares that the death of the leader, so far from healing, will widen tho breach in the Irish party. London, October B.— The doctors certify that Mr Parnell's death waa due to rheumatic fever and failure of the heart's action, and in this opinion Mrs Parnell agreeß, and his family deny that he committed suicide. The doctors, however, decline to speak on the subject. Mr James O'Kelly, after riowing the body, declared that he appeared as if he bad died from natural caui-es. Mr Parnell's last appearance in public was at Crigg's, and while there stood three hours in the rain. The people of Cork exhibited but little outward regret, but in Dublin the shock was very acute. Mr Parnell left no political directions. The news of his death caused a pro-found sensation in America, where the Press comments are of a generous nature ; even among those hostile to him there was an immense revulsion of feeling. The belief is gaining ground in England, the United States, and on the Continent, that with Mr Parnell's death the division of the Irish party will cease. Speculation as to the political effect of his decease overrides expressions of regret in England. The rime* considers that the highest evidence of Mr ParnelPs intellectual ability lies in the fact that he inspired actual enthusiasm, though his personal character was so ropellant. The Standard says he died at a moment most favorable to his reputation, and that his death will revive hw fond fidelity of the past. It expects an early division of the party. The members of the Parnellite party are arranging for a public funeral in Dublin.
