AX AGED MOTHER'S BIBTH-
Once more thy natal day is here, and thou Art still the preoious love-light of the hearth, Where sweet mementoes are unfolded now, To shed alittle sunshine on thy path. Life's morning knew thee clad in kindly deeds, That later stages richly multiplied ; A ministering friend to human wants and needs - That heaven will crown beyond life's eventide. Not on the loftiest pinnacle of art, Nor to untraversed science didst thou olimb: ' * For thee " the still, small voice " had set apart , A sphere that made thy pilgrimage sublime. Though aged now, thy noble spirit tries The sacrifice of self to uncontrol ; To rise superior to infirmities That check the aspirations of the soul. But, honored mother, wanted here for years, Thy feebler hand should grasp the needed rest, Till duided upward from this vale of tears To the eternal mansions of the blest ! T. BIiISSETT.
