Smith, M H.R., is stated to have presented the Jubilee medal to Birch, which is scarcely correct. On account of the great services rendered the Sports Committee by, Mr W. H. Skinner, and the very keen interest taken by both Mr and Mrs Skinner in the Recreation Grounds, Mrs Skinner was invited to make the presentation, and Mr Smith was asked to make a few remarks, which he did, afterwards calling on Mrs Skinner to make the presentation.
