For the information of intending exhibitorp, tbe following are suggested as some of the branches it is desirable should be represented j — Art. — (Section A.) PaintinsP, enar.ivings, lithographs, photographs, architectural drawings and model?, sculpture and carvings, und jewellery. Science, Natural History & Cubios. — (Section B.) Such us scientific apparatus of nil kinds (microscope?, telescopes, electric butteiiee, &.}.), specimens of animals, vegetables, and minerals, ancient books, I newspapers and coins, antique and curious furniture, china and glass, old and curious engravings, &c. Industry and Manufactures — (Section C.) comprising furniture, sashes, doors mouldings, carvings, turnery, stonft and marble work, tiles and pottery, tannery, boots and shoes, saddlery and barney baßketwarc, plumbing work, tinwan-, all kinc^s of engineering, foundry and smiths 1 work, agricultural and dairying appliancPF, printing in all its branches', coach and cart work, coopering, rauaicalicstrumentp, painting and decorating, preserved meats, preserved and dried fruits ; jwns, jellies, &c ; wines, ules, cordiule, !iprn.tod. waters, pickles, sauces. confeclione r y, bricks and cement, &c, &c. Raw Matkriaib. — Agricultural and General PRODrjctr.— Scction D. Such as — Wool, Flax, Fungus, Honey, Ciieeep, Bacon, Butter. Soap, Flour, Oatmeal, and Stnrch (in small dumpies), Gruin, Sred, Roots, Fruit, and all garden nnd field produce, Timber, Stone, Coal, Ores, Lime, &c, &o. Home Industry. — (Section E). This department is open for articles made by amateurs or persons following occupations not connected with exhibits, and will comprise — Funcy and Plain Knitting, Crochet, Netting, Silk and Wool Work, Plain J and Fancy Sewing, Ornamental Leather Work, Paintings, Drawings &c, o£ any description, Jams, Jellies, Prostrved or Dried Fruits, Winep, Pickles, Stuces &c, Models, Carving, Fret-vcrh &c, &c, or uny oilier articles of onuueur ninnulucttiro. Exhibits of school work will be grouped to compare rcpults. Certificates of merit will bo awarded in t'lin department for — Best pioco of Plain Knitting, in wool, or Cotton, or bolb, best piece of fancy Knitting in Wool, or Cotton, or both, oest piece of Crochet Work in Wool, or Cotton, or both, bept piece of. Netting in Wool, or .Cotton, cr both, greatest variety of Fancy Work done by Exhibitor, best piece of Plaia Sawing done entirely by hand by girls under the age ot sixteen, best piece of darnins: done entirely by hand by girls under the age of sixteen, best piece of Funcy Work done entirely by hanJ by girld under the age of sixteen, bi st spicimtna cf Jams, Jellies, Preserved or Diied Fruits, Picklep, Sauces. Wines, Confectionery, &c, Models in j Cuniboard or Wood, Drawing, Fret-work, Carving, Turnery, Leather, Shell, Cone aud Seed Work, Suhool Work, &c, &c. When work i* done by a child, age to be stated and certified to, and nae> and quality will ba taken into coußiueration. awards of Merit. Awards will bo given in tbe form of Certificates for Meritorious Exhibits in the Manufactures, liaio Material und Produce, and Home Industry Departments. A programme fur exhibits in the Agricultural Department will shortly .be issued, and a small charge will be made for exhibits, and money prizes awarded. Exhibits* to be classified as "Saleable 1 ' and "' For. Exhibit oniy." All loan or private exhibits-free. Exhibits for sale must be specialty notified, with piices attached, aid applications for spuce must be nccompinied by a fee for commission at the folio ving rates: — "All manufactured goods ' (whether for sale or exhibit only) excepting scientific appliances and jewe'bry, 2$ per cent.* on the stated, value, -with an additional 2^ pi r cent if sold. All articles in the Home Industry section "marke for sale " 2£ per cent, on the stated value (vitb a minimum of Is), and on additional 2£ per cent, if Bold. All Jewellery, Scientific Appliances and Works' of An marked for sale" 1 per oent. on the stated value, and an additional 4 per cent f sold. All exhibits subject to the approval of the Committee, and all Bales to be effected through tho Secretary* Exhibitors may rely on the utmost care being tcken of everything entrusted to the Committee. Night watchmen will be emplo}ed, and insurance against, fife effected. Exhibits will be carried free on the Now Zealand Railways, and by tho Union and Northern SS. Company's fltniuuerß. Exhibits must be addressed " The Secretary of Exhibition, Now Plymouth,' and legibly marfted "For exhibit at the At tbe Jubilee Exhibition, New Plymouth." All goods to beplac-dd on train or steumer; and in tho event of exhibits btin^ sold or exchanged, the full railway or steamer charges must be paid by exhibitor Returning exhibits will be conveyed tree of charge, on tbe certificate of Secretury that no sule or exchange hus been effected Written notice ot intended exhibits, giving full particulars of name, nature, space required (floor or wall), class, und general information, trust be sent to the Secretary, New Plymouth; orMbSsre R. A. Adams, Patea; E. Burgess, Stratford; R. Stevens, Ingle wood; J.K. Olurk, Waitura; B. 0. Bobbins, tJuwera; U. R.Buyley, Normanby; GK A. Hurley, Manaia; J. H. The Exhibition will be open during Jubilee week, from the 30th March to thu sth of April, 1891. Entertainments of varied character will be given every evening.
