FIRE BRIGADE ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Fire Brigade was held m tho Council Chambers on- ) Thursday night. There was a full | attendance of members, Capt. Maher being in the chair. Balance-sheet. — The balance-sheet, which showed a small credit, was read and adopted. The report was also read and adopted. Deputation -A deputation composed of Messrs Mofflin and Goodacrc, of the Exhibition Committee, waited on the meeting with lefcrence to the Brigade members doing night duty at the Exhibition— After discussion it was decided to place two men on each night from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., the Committee to pay £1 per night. "Ofwoebs.— The following officers were elected ior the year :— M. Maher waa reelected Captain of the Brigade • C E Bellringer was elected First Lieutenant; 111 H. KivoM, Second Lieutenant: Foreman, F Bollringor ; Secretary and Treasurer, 11. Ainsw'orth ; Managing Committee, J. Harvey, and J. Ahorn, and officers. Delegates.— The first-lieutenant and secretary were elected delegates to attend the Annual Brigade Conference to bo held in Auckland on the 2-itli insl. Resignation.— Lie jt. Corke forwarded his resignation, which wi3 accepted, and a resolution was passed regretting the circumstance, and voting him a five years' certificate for elfioicncy, and a medal. Votes op thanks.— Votes of thanks were returned to the retiriug officers.
