Puintinsrs, engravings, lithographs, photographs, architectural drawings and models, sculpture and carvings, and jewellery. Science, Natubal History & Cdbios.— (Section B.) Such us scientific apparatus of all kinds (tnjeropcopee, telescopes, eleotrio batt.eiies, &c), specimens o£ animals, vegetables, and minerals, ancient books, newspapers and coins, antique and curious furniture, china and glass, old and curious engravings, &c. Industry and Manufaotubes — (Section G.) coinpnsinsf furniture, sashes, doors mouldings, carvings, turnery, stone un<? marble work, tiles and pottery, tannery, boots and shoes, saddlery and barney basketware, plumbing work, tinware, all kint's of engineorin?, foundry aad smitbs' work, agricultural and dairying appliances, printing in all its branches', coach and cart work, coopering, rnueionl instrument^, painting and decoroting, preserved moats, preserved and dried fruitß ; juins, jtliiis., &c.; wines, ales, cord iuls, aerated wabrs, pickl<B, eauofs. confectionerj', bricks and cement, &c, &o. Home Industry. — (Section E). i This, department is open for articles made by amateurs or persona following . occupations not connected with exhibits, and will comprise —Fancy and Plain Knitting, Crochet, Netting, Silk and Wool Work, Plain and Fanov Sewing, Ornamental Leather Work, Painting?, Drawings &c, of any description, Jams, Jellies, Preserved or Dried Fruits, Wines, Pickles, Sauces ,&c, .Models, Carving, Fret-work. &c., &c, or , any other articles of amateur manufacture. ~ Exhibits of Bchool work will be grouped to compare results. Certificates of merit will be awaided in ftis department for — Best piece of Plain Knitting, in wool, or Cotton, or both, best piece of Fancy Knitting in Wool, or Cotton, or bolb, nest .piece of Crochet Work(,in.,Wool,- or Potton, or bothj best piece of Nutting in Wool, or Cotton, cr both, greatest variety ol Fancy Work dono ,by Exhibitor, best piece of Plain Sawing donb entirely by hand by girls under the age oC sixteen, best piece of darning done entirely by band, by girls under the,, age .of. sixteeD, best piece of Fancy Work done- entirely by hand by girld under the age of sixteen, btst specimens cf Jams, Jellies, Preserved or Dried Fruits, Pickles, Sauces. Wines, Confectioner}', &c, Models in j Cardboard or Wood, Drawing, Fret-work, i Carving, Turnery, Leather, Shell, Cone and Seed Work, School Work, &c, &c. When work is done by a ohild, age to be stated and certified to, and age and quality will be taken into consideration. AWARDS OF MBBIT. Awards will be given in tbe form of Certificates for Meritorious Exhibits in tbe Manufactures, Sato Material and Produce, and Home Industry Departments. A programme for exhibits in the. Agricultural Department will shortly be issued, and a small charge will be made for exhibits, and money prizes awarded. Exhibits to be classified as "Saleable" and ; "For Exhibit only." All loan or private exhibits free. I Exbibits for sale must be speoiallj notified, with prices attached, and applications for space mußt be accompanied by a fee for commission at the folio "v ing rates: •—"All manufactured goods ' (whether for sale or exhibit onlj) excepting scientific appliances and jewe'.bry, 2£ per tent, on the stated value, with an additional 2£ per cent if sold. All articles in the Home Industry section " marked for sale " 2£ per cent, on the stated value (with a minimum of Is), and an additional 2£ per cent, if sold. All Jewellery, Scientific Appliances and Works of An, « marked for sale" 1 per cent." on the stated value, and an additional 4 per cent. if sold. \ All exhibits subject to tho [approval of the Committee, and all sales to be effected through the Secretary. : Exhibitors may rely en the almost cure boing taken of everything entrusted to the Committee. Night watohmen will be employed, and insurance against fire effected. " ' ■ , Exbibits will be carried free on the New Zealand Railways, and by the Union and Northern S.S. Company's steamers. All goods to be placed on train or steamer,; and in tho event of exhibits btini sold or exchanged, the full railway or steamer charges must be paid by exhibitor Returning exhibits will be conveyed free of charge,- on the certificate of Secretary that no sale or exchange has been effected Written notice of intended exhibits, giving foil particulars of name, nature, space, required (floor or wall), olaes, and general information, must be sent to the* Seoretary/New Ply month; or Messrs R. A. Adorofl, Patea; E. Burgess, Stratford; R. Stevens, Inglewpod; J. R. Olurk, Waitara; B. O. Bobbins, Uawera; C. R. Bay ley, Normanby; G. A. Hurley. Manaia; J. H. Newman, Opunake ; and Town Clerk, Wanganui, as early as practicable, and not later than the 28th February, 1891, for the purpose of being catalogued, excepting agricultural and general produce, for which notice must be sent not later than March 23rd. 1891; and exbibits delivered in New Plymouth, preoeded by advice notes, not later than 7 days before the openine, or by special' arrangement with the Seoretary. The Exhibition will be open during Jubileo week, from tbe 30th March to tho sth of April, 1891. Entertainments of varied character will be given every evening.
