(PROM OtJB OWN OORBBSPONDENT.) A well attended meetingwas held 'at Mr Pettigrew's on Wednesday evening last of those interested in paying off the liabilities incurred by the Town District Committee some time since for a survey of the bay, and preparing plans for the wharf, also to endeavor to raise funds for the purpose of purchasing a piano for the hall. Mr Pettigrew, who was unanimously elected chairman, ventilated his views on the subject. It was then resolved " that a Committee of 5, consisting of Messrs Brame, H. Middleton, F. DeForges, Fitness, and Bailees be appointed to carry out the objects of the meeting, and in three months' time to convene another meeting of those interested to give in their report." It was resolved " that the Committee inaugurate entertainments and other ways which they may deem expedient for the purpose of raising funds." It was resolved " that the Committee take steps and procure a piano, making arrangements for payment of the same ; .the said piano, when paid for, to be handed over to the Town Board in trust ;" it was resolved " that the allocation of what funds- may be forthcoming be decided hereafter." It was resolved " that application be made to the Town Board for the use of the Town Hall free of charge for the purpose above named, and that Mr Breach be kindly requested to present the same at the next meeting of the Board." The meeting being brought to a close, a vote of thanks to the chairman was carried.
