DISCOVEBY OF COAL IN S.OrjTHLASD. Ikvebcargill,. January 5. An important discovery .of coal has been made in the Orepuki Company's , lease. The seam of 22 feet recently opened looks well, and produces splendid gas coal. Steps will at once be taken te have exhaustive tests made at Invercargill and Dunedin Gas Works'. The mine is situated 50 miles from Invercargill, and 25 fr6m Riverton.
