EDUCATION RESERVES BOARD.

The Education Reserves Board met on Tuesday. Present: Messrs T. King (chairman), Parris, Weetman, and Bauchope. Hawem. — J. McCutchan & Co., Hawera, wrote stating that lessees of educational reserves which have neither perpetual renewal rights or compensation clauses in their leases are anxious to loam . whether these covenants would bo admitted on application, so as to allow them equal privileges with holders of leases now being granted by the Commissioners. Several settlers, the letter added, would build and make other like substantial improvements on their holdings, but feel debarred by the condition of their leases as at present in force. — The Board decided, "That Messrs McCulchan & Co.'s letter be considered nt the next meeting of the Board." Solicitor to Board. — On the motion of Major Parris, seconded by Mr Bauohope, Mr Samuel was appointed solicitor to the Board, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the decease of Mr H. R. Richmond. A ent Question.— David Green, of Eltham, applied for a reduction of rent of section leased by him. — The Board saw no reason to accede to tlie request. Transfer. — W. H. Kelly was allowed to transfer lease of sec 73, block 10, Huiroa, to T. McGregor. Leases accepted. — The following leases were accepted : Anton Potroz, sec 231, Moa, at 9d per acre; August Neushowski, sec 232, Moa, 9d per acre; August Kalchert, sec 1288, Town, at 10s per annum, for 21 years. Accounts. — Accounts amounting to £227 4s lOd were passed for payment. The Board adjourned.
