THE MASONIC INSTALLATION.
TO THE EDITOB.
Sin, — In reply to "Veritas," I would fraternally remind your correspondent that the Grand Lodge of New Zealand is recognised as the Buprofie governing Masonic body in this territory by every Grand Lodge from whom she has sought recognition, save, for the pi'esent, the Grand Lodges of England, Ireland, and Scotland, and that she is in fraternal communication with nearly every Grand Lodge in the world — the first to accord her recognition being the Australian Grand Lodges, which have for their patron H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, the Grand Master of England. The mother Grand Lodge (England) has not refused recognition, neither has she in any way questioned the constitutional formation of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, but has merely withheld recognition for the time being, in the hope that greater unanimity will shortly prevail ;- and it was to assist that end that the Ngamotu Lodge — and indeed many other Lodges — transferred allegiance from her to the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. At the same time we remain united in the bonds of Masonic love and loyalty to our Mother Grand Lodge, and shall ever feel grateful to her for the fostering care she has bestowed upon us from our Masonic birth.
If " Veritas " has the good of the craft at heart, I would admonish him to be more Masonic in the way he expresses himself. A drowning man will clutch at a straw, but it does about as much good as taking advantage of a clerical error as an excuse for groundless abuse. As lam not ashamed either of my name or my assertions, I do not require a ncm de rlums. I therefore beg to subscribe myself. — I am, &c, Dec. 3rd. John W. Warren.
