MR MoGUIRE AT OKATO.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — Tho spectacles through which your correspondent " Observer " viewed Mr McGuire's meeting at Okato, evidently distorted his vision or perhaps his spl«en and virulence, finding escape through his eyes, so steeped his glasses with nasty bile.
Notwithstanding his misleading statements, those present at Mr McGuire's meeting know that the latter gentleman was received with euthusiasm. The speech is accounted by impartial and competent judges to be one of the soundest, most original and practical political address ever delivered to Taranaki electors. He, no doubt, spoke a deal too fairly and well, to please such a warped and contemptible critic as " Observer." New Zealand wants workers in Parliameut, not talkers. The latter genus are to be found in plenty at street corners and pot houses. — I am, &c,
An Okato Resident, Okato, November 27th.
