The Dadphin ran three timeß bb a two-year-old, winning twice. Ab a three-year-old be ran nine times, winning the Canterbury Derby (one mile and a half) aad Wanganai Stakes (two miles), and running eucond to Grip in the Canterbury Cup (w.f.a., two miles and a quarter) in the fastest time ever recorded for that race. Maria Theresa is one of the few daughters of Stockwell'e brother Rataplan ever imported to New Zealand. Gunboat was one of the beat sons of Sir Hercules, and Marie Agnes, granddam of Maria Tneresa , was by The Cossaok, who won the Darby of 1847. Both the sire and dam of Maria Theresa traoe back direotly to Sir Hercules on their sire's side, and the name of Pdntuloon appears at both the top and bottom of The Dauphin's pedigree table. The Dauphin has sired the following:— Eileen, Ousbla, Blue Mountain, Fairy Queen, Tuna, etc., eto. Thus it will be een that all bis Btock ' yet tried are wiani-rs.
