EXPECTED RELIEF TO STRIKERS. | PER PRBBS A8800rATI0N."l London, August 29.— The .Star says it is expected that £10,000 to £20,000 will bo cabled to the Australian strikers during the course of the next two weeks. The labor agitators say that the- time is at hand when capitalists must choose between the Trade Unions and civil war. REFUSING TO RECOGNISE A UN [ON. The Southampton employers have refused to recognise the official Dockers' Union, though they are willing to grant tho men's demands. UNION REFUSE TO PAY DOCKERS STRIKE MONEY. The dockers protested against tho Union refusing to pay strike allowance to men who left work in the recent Tilbury strike. AUSTRALIAN STRIKE. The shipowners are conferring about the Australian strikes, and merchants are much alarmed. ASSISTING STRIKERS. The Dockers' Union have voted £1000 to assist the strikers, and will levy Is per week on all members. READY FOR A FIGHT. Tillett states they will be unable to strike in sympathy with the Australians until the agreement with the stevedores expires, but they are eager to assist. The Standard hopes that violence will be sternly repressed in Australia.
