Melbourne, Angust 28. Sailed : Manaponri, for Bluff. After a long fight it has been decided to refer the whole question of railway extension under tho new bill to a Parliamentary Committee. The cost incurred by the Crown in prosecuting the directors of the Premier Permanent Building Society for fraud, i amount to £4,600. The name of Grill, a shipowner, has been successfully forged to the extent of £5,000, and the forger drew the amount in gold and escaped.
