POISONING CASH) IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, July 11. At the inquest on the body of MrsBennett, medical evidence showed death resulted from, poisoning by strychnine. From the evidence of Mr Fitzgerald, chemist, and his assistant (Mr English) there was little or no doubt that the morphia dispensing bottle had been filled from the liquid strychnine stock bottle, and hence the mistake in making np the prescription. The mistake was only discovered by Mr English when about to replenish the dispensing bottle, and he then found that the " liquor morphia" stock bottle was intact. Mr Fitzgerald, who courted the fullest enquiry, attributed the mistake in filling the bottle to the former assistant engaged by him, and the inquest has been adjourned until Saturday, to procure the latter's attendance.
