BRITONS IN N Y ASS ALAND. SOUTH-EAST AFRICA.
Livingstonin, Lake Nyaesa, East Central Africa, Karonga, 26th Feb , 1889. Gentlemen, — " At the urgent request of a friend in Africa, I have been persuaded to write you regarding om of tho Watorbury Watches, which I wetr every day, and can recommend for time-keeping ability. It hfts been in Africa for tbree years, travelled from London to Zanzibar, from Zanzibar to Lake Tanganyika, from Lake Tanganyika to Lake Nyassa. It has been twice under water in African mere, bad at least two falls, and been severely handled by many natives, many of whom look upon it as something marvellous. Once it was taken down whan tbe spring leaped from the case, giving us all a f right, and lay some yards off, a giant thing of many feet in length, In the fights we have had at Nyasßa with the Arabs it has been v»ith me in several engagements. Notwithstanding all it keepß good time, and is not rivalled by valuable watches. For wear and tear and time-keeping in a rough country like Africa, I think there is nothing better. Believe me, gentlemen, most respectfully yours, DAVID KEWB CROSS. M.B 0.M., Ordained Missionary, Livingstonia. THE WATEBBUBY WATOH 00. P.B. — The watch is one of your humblest.— D.K.O. JOHN AVERY, New Ply-Houtb.
