FIRE IN POWDERHAM-STREET.
AT 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon a fire was observed issuing from a chimney of ft house at tha corner of Silver and Powderh&m.Btreeti occupied by Mr 8. j^QWfll, iiD-i i»4 owed by Mri Moon,
The fire came through the chimney, and caught some woodwork on the roof, but as the roof is of slate, the fire did not make much progress. Several willing persons, including the Rev. H. H. Brown, Messrs. W. Christie, F. Neweli, J. Guerin, and W. Guerin, sen., went to work, and by the means of buckets of water soon succeeded in extinguishing the flames.
