[from our own correspondent.] May 14. — On Monday Mr Tuunecliffe suffered from the result of a very unpleasant and distressing accident. It appears that Mr Tunnecliifo working with bis Bon George log splitting, and as the latter was driving home a wedge the head of tho beetle liew off, striking Mr TunnecliflEe on the jaw. The eifect of the How was such as to hurl Mr Tunnecliflie some distance, rendering him insensible, and fracturing his jaw. As soon as possible the sufferer was conveyed to town, but oa the way thither Dr. St. George was met and t.io circumstances c plained, and the doctor ascertaining that the jaw waa fractured, promptly sot tho injured member.
