CABINET MEETING. Wellington, May 3. Sir Frederick Whitaker and the Hon. Mr Stevens have arrived. It is expected that a full Cabinet meeting will be held on Monday, when the postal reductions will be discussed. The Post-master-General states that he is almost certa : n New Zealand will not adopt them. THE NEW CABLE. The Scotia, with the New Zetland end of the new cable, is expected at Wakapuaka on Monday. Dr. Lemon left for Wakapuaka to-day. DICA'IH OP A PIONEER. Duxedin, May 3. The death is reported of Mr Edmund Elliott, one of the pioneers, at Macetown Goldfields.
