BRITONS IN NYASSALAND. SOUTH-IS AST AFRICA.
Livingßtoniu, Like Nyasßa, Eaßt Central Africn, Karonara, 26th Feb , 1889. Gentlemen, — " At the urgent request of a friend in Africa, I have been persuaded to write you regarding ona of tbe Waterbury Watchec, which I wetr every day, and can recommend for time keeping ability. It has been in Africa for three years, travelled from London to Zanzibar, from Z iDzibur to Luke Tanganyika, from Lake Tanganyika to Like Nyassa. It has been twice under wnter in African mery, had at least two fulls, and been severely handled by many natives, many of whom look upon it as something marvellous. Once it w?s taken down whan the spring leaped from tha case, uiving us all a f i ight, and lay some yards off, a giant thing of many feet in length. In tho lights we havo hud tit Nya6Ba with tho Arabs it has been with mo in several engagements. Notwithstanding all it keeps good time, and is not rivalled by valuable watches. For wear and tear nnd time-keeping in a rough country liko Afiica, I think there is nothing better. Believe mo, gentlomen, most respectfully yourp, DAVID KEWB CROSS, JI 1) 011 , Ordained Missionary, Livingßtouia. THE WATERBURY WATCH CO. P.S. — The watch is ono of your humbledt.— D.K.C. JOHN AVERY, New Ply liouth.
