BUSH FIRE RELIEF FUND.

SACRED CONCERT IN WESLEYAN

CHURCH. A saciiki) concert was hold in the Wesleyan Chinch on Tuesday night in aid of the Bush Fire Relief Fund, and in every ret poet it was n, success. There was a large attendance of the public, who appeared to thoroughly appreciate the following programme : — %< Opon tho Beautiful Gate," choir and Sunday school children; " Marching on to Victory," choir and Sunday school children ; solo, " Will He Come," Miss Teed ; " Lead me, Saviour," choir and schoolchildren; "Sweet Sabbath Bells," choir and school children ; solo, " Rest," Miss Okoy ; " A Smile from Jesus," choir and school children ; " Our Festive Days so Bright," choir and school children; solo and quartette, "By the Dark Euphrates Stream," from the cantata " Under the Palms," Miss Teed, Messrs Churton, Veale, Okey and Ainsworth ; " Whispers of Heaven," choir and school children ; " Hosannato Jesus," choir and school children; solo, " The Better Land," Mr Churton ; " Hear the Trumpet Loudly Calling," Choir and schoolchildren; " Angel Voices," Choir and school children ; solo, "He wipes the Tear from every Eye," Mrs F. Okey ; " Feed my Lambs," Choir and school children ; " God be with you," Choir and school children. Mr Churton and Mrs F. Okey were each encored for their solos, and Miss Teed narrowly escaped a recall for her item. The choruses were splendidly sung, the training the school children must have had reflecting credit on Miss Okey, Mr N. Okey, and Mr E. Veale. On the whole the concert pioved to be very entertaining. The orchestral music played by Miss Okey (organ), Miss Williams and Mr Arnold (violins), Mr N. Okey (double bass), and Mr E. Howell (cornet), helped materially to the evening's enjoyment. At the conclusion of the programme, the Rev. Mr Beck moved a vote of thanks to the school children and ladies and gentlemen who assisted at the concert, and the Press for free advertising. The vote was carried with acclamation.
